Airports

Thailand has an extensive and expanding civil aviation network that includes three major international airports, and many smaller provincial airports. In October 2006 Thailand opened its new Suvarnabhumi Bangkok International Airport to replace the 80 year old Don Muang International Airport which had been struggling to handle the increased air traffic flowing into and out of Thailand, as well as the burgeoning domestic air travel industry which had been growing steadily as low cost carriers have opened up air travel to more people than ever before.
